Kota Kinabalu: NGO Gerakan Kuasa Rakyat Malaysia (G57) accused Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin of distorting the truth and misleading the public over his claims that Sabah Umno will not work with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in the coming state election due to past betrayals.
Its Chairman Datuk Zulkarnain Mahdar said it was GRS and its Chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor who were subjected to political bullying — not Umno.
“From the very beginning of the post-PRN-16 administration, pressure was exerted on Hajiji from multiple fronts.

He claimed that Bung was first appointed Local Government and Housing Minister but later had his position upgraded, allegedly following quiet political threats directed at the Chief Minister.
“Nearly all major state ministerial roles and GLC chairmanships were handed to Umno figures, reflecting an unbalanced power distribution,” he added.
Zulkarnain went on to say that the most severe act of political sabotage came in 2023, when Bung allegedly collaborated with Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal in a failed attempt to overthrow the State Government.
“The effort collapsed when Pakatan Harapan (PH) assemblymen refused to take part,” he said.
“It is clear who was truly undermined. I urge Bung to stop twisting the narrative for political convenience.
“The people are paying attention and can see who really betrayed the coalition’s original mandate,” he added.
