Kota Kinabalu: Continuous support from non-governmental organisations such as the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu Mandarin plays an important role in assisting students with special needs and schools.
Sabah Education Department Deputy Director (School Management) Hj Abidin Hj Marjan said a recent donation of RM9,000 from the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu Mandarin to SMK Badin Tuaran is a great example of that.
He said this donation which was presented to the school in October last year had helped a total of 85 students with special needs, refurbish classrooms and provide study materials among others.
“Although students with special needs do not always excel academically, they have other qualities and skills that can be explored,” he said.
