A Nigerian man residing in Batu Uban, Penang, lost his life after allegedly jumping deliberately from the 16th floor of a condominium. The incident occurred during an attempt to escape the police following a raid on his residence.

The Northeast District Police Chief, ACP Razlam Ab Hamid, revealed that the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division conducted the raid at 6 PM, acting on information about drug distribution activities at the premises.

Upon knocking on the door of the involved unit on the 16th floor, a man believed to be Nigerian briefly appeared but hastily retreated upon realizing the police presence, locking the door behind him. The raiding team successfully entered the house, apprehending another man, also presumed to be Nigerian.

During a subsequent inspection, a man was discovered lying lifeless on a lower floor, suspected to be the same individual who initially opened the door. Another accomplice was apprehended while attempting to escape on the eighth floor of the condominium.

Razlam disclosed that a search of the rented residence uncovered a quantity of ecstasy and methamphetamine.
