Nik Nazmi condemns racist notice at Kota Warisan stall

VICE PRESIDENT of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, has expressed his dismay over a recent incident involving a racist notice at a corn stall in Kota Warisan, Sepang.

In a statement released by PKR today, he strongly condemned the act, stating that such behavior is unacceptable and goes against the values of unity and respect that Malaysia holds dear.

He emphasised that Malaysia is a multicultural society where people from diverse ethnicities, religions, and cultures live together, and every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and without discrimination.

The racist labeling of any community, he said, is uncalled for and undermines the spirit of inclusivity that Malaysia is known for.

Nik Nazmi noted that while extremist individuals may harbor racist views, it is important not to let the actions of a few tarnish the harmonious relationships built over time between different communities. He also pointed out that Islam teaches respect for others and encourages compassion, not hatred.

The political leader urged the public to remain calm and avoid exacerbating the situation, stressing the importance of maintaining societal harmony and fostering mutual respect among all Malaysians. - February 16, 2025
