
PARTI Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has confirmed he has submitted a formal protest to the party’s Central Election Committee (JPP) concerning issues related to the Setiawangsa divisional election results.
“I have sent a protest letter (to the JPP) and we will wait for the response. There is also a Central Leadership Council (CEC) meeting today, so we will just wait for the decision they will announce,” he said.
Nik Nazmi, who is also the Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, made the remarks when met by reporters at the 2025 World Tapir Day celebration at the Wildlife Conservation Centre in Sungai Dusun, Kuala Kubu Baharu.
In the April 19 polls, Nik Nazmi, who is also the Setiawangsa MP, lost his bid to retain the division chief post to actor and film director Datuk Afdlin Shauki, who garnered 631 votes to his 563.
JPP chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa said yesterday that the status of protests relating to several divisions in the 2025 PKR Election will be announced next week. - April 26, 2025
