NILAI in Negeri Sembilan recorded the highest Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 168 as of 7 am today.

The Department of Environment’s (DOE) Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) website revealed that 21 locations nationwide have recorded API levels in the "unhealthy" range.

In addition to Nilai, Seremban recorded an API reading of 167, followed by Larkin (167), Batu Muda (162), Bandaraya Melaka (162), Batu Pahat (162), Pasir Gudang (161), Tangkak (161), Bukit Rambai (160), and Kluang (157).

Meanwhile, 42 other areas across the country recorded API readings in the "moderate" range, including Banting, Seri Manjung, Shah Alam, Kota Tinggi, and Kuching.

Five more stations recorded Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at a 'good' level: Langkawi, Kota Bharu, Kuala Terengganu, Tanah Merah, and Besut.

An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and an API reading above 300 is at a hazardous level. – October 24, 2026
