KOTA KINABALU: Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, has lodged a police report over a viral WhatsApp screenshot he said was falsely linked to him and aimed at discrediting Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah.

Nizam said his lawyer had issued a Letter of Demand to the individual alleged to be spreading the fabricated screenshot through a Facebook account.

He stressed that the messages were entirely false and politically driven, describing them as an attempt to smear his name and mislead the public.

Nizam urged the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to act quickly, noting that such actions not only harm reputations but could also disturb public peace.

He added that the same individual had previously circulated similar claims against other political figures, warning that repeated use of such fabrications could disrupt harmony and distract from other pressing matters.
