MANILA, Philippines — “Because we care for strays,” NLEX Corp. on Friday introduced its newly formed Animal Rescue Team, which will facilitate the rescue of stray animals along the expressway.
In a statement through Facebook post, NLEX said that the rescue team is composed of 31 members who have undergone training with the Marilao Municipal Veterinary Services Office for proper animal handling and rescue operations.
The corporation said that the team members are equipped with the necessary gear and have been vaccinated to ensure they are prepared to handle stray dogs and cats along NLEX.
“We have also equipped them with the necessary gear and vaccines to ensure they are well prepared to handle stray dogs and cats along NLEX,” the corporation said.
Rescued animals will be turned over to the Marilao Animal Shelter and Care Facility for continued monitoring and care, according to NLEX.
“Through the ‘I Care For Strays’ program, NLEX promotes animal welfare, responsible pet ownership, and the humane rescue, care, and management of stray animals, all in support of road safety,” NLEX said.
