Police confirm no aircraft found in Sungai Kandis after viral Facebook post sparks search, urge public not to spread unverified claims

SHAH ALAM: Police have confirmed that the viral social media post claiming an aircraft was stranded in the Sungai Kandis area, in Section 26 here, is false.

Shah Alam district police chief ACP Ramsay Embol said police received information about a stranded aircraft at 11.55 am today and a search to locate the aircraft was immediately launched.

“A search was conducted around the stated area based on coordinates (3.0407719, 101.4824838) shared on Facebook, and no aircraft was found as claimed by the Facebook account owner. The claim was false,” he said in a statement today.

In the same statement, he also advised the public not to spread unverified information or make any speculation that could cause public anxiety.

Earlier, a social media post went viral showing a screenshot of a flight map allegedly depicting an aircraft near the area, with the caption: ‘What is that plane doing near the Klang River in Sungai Kandis?’
