A woman in Malaysia was left disappointed after what was meant to be a kind gesture allegedly turned into an unpleasant experience with the recipients of her free baby items.
According to mStar, the woman shared that she had decided to give away some of her child’s belongings for free, something many parents do once their children have outgrown them.
However, she claimed the couple who came to collect the items showed little initiative to help her.
Couple allegedly remained inside the car
According to the woman, the couple messaged her after arriving outside her home.
Instead of getting out of the car to collect the items, she claimed both of them remained seated inside while she carried the baby items back and forth to their vehicle several times.
They messaged me when they reached my house, but the husband and wife didn’t even get out of the car. I had to carry the baby items out several times myself.”
She said the husband only opened the car door after seeing her repeatedly bring the items over.
It was only after she spoke up that he allegedly helped carry the remaining items from her doorstep.
Wife only thanked her before leaving
The woman said she was even more surprised by the wife, as she was allegedly the person who had initially contacted her about the free items.
However, the wife reportedly remained inside the car throughout the collection.
After everything was done, the husband asked, ‘Is this all?’ I said yes, and then he thanked me.”
She added that the wife did not initially greet her or step out of the vehicle.
At first, the woman thought she might have been breastfeeding her baby inside the car, but later noticed that the child was asleep in a car seat.
The wife eventually rolled down the window and thanked her shortly before the couple left.
It’s not like I expected her to come out and worship me or anything. But it just felt like there was no basic courtesy.”

The Threads post later attracted comments from other social media users who shared their own experiences giving away items or doing charity work.
Some said they had encountered recipients whom they felt were similarly unappreciative, while others said such experiences had made them more cautious when offering help.
However, several comments also drew criticism for making sweeping assumptions about people facing financial hardship, including claims that poverty was linked to a lack of gratitude or manners.
