Kota Kinabalu: Advocate for the Chief Minister, Tengku Datuk Ahmad Fuad, clarified that the Sabah Government has nothing to do with the sale of Sabah Forest Industries Sdn Bhd (SFI) or its assets.
Hence, he dismissed, an article by whistleblower Sarawak Report titled “More of Sabah Up for Cheap Sale” as misleading, inaccurate and containing factual errors.
“There is no cheap sale to anyone. The article relies on sources that have ulterior motives which have nothing to do with the facts on the ground or ensuring the welfare and future prosperity of the people of Sipitang,” he said in a statement, Tuesday.
Ahmad Fuad, who is also Advocate for the Director of Lands and Survey and the Government of Sabah, said the RM256 million offered to SFI (In Liquidation) as compensation for the acquisition of the 15 parcels of land does not include the timber concession licence formerly held under SFI.
