SHAH ALAM, Aug 13 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has denied there will be a reshuffle of the state executive council, amid rumours of a shakeup in the administration’s top leadership.

Amirudin said the state administration is strong and that state executive councillors have been fulfilling their responsibilities well and working collaboratively, but he admitted there is always room for improvement in their performance.

“This serves as a reminder to everyone to work even harder and ensure we deliver on our promises and meet our set targets.

“If you ask about the possibility of a reshuffle, it’s always there, depending on circumstances such as illness, death, or other factors. We are happy to work together.

“I acknowledge there needs to be an improvement in performance to strengthen our service after one year.

“Last week, I reminded all state executive councillors to enhance their performance in the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, focusing on their achievements and what they want to accomplish,” he said when met at a programme here today.

Yesterday, news portal Malaysia Gazette reported the Selangor administration was considering reshuffling its state executive council to enhance the state’s efficiency, which would involve leaders from Parti Keadilan Rakyat and Democratic Action Party.

The portal claimed the changes were expected at the end of this month or in September, not due to the current councillors’ failure to perform, but rather to make way for more experienced leaders.
