Kota Kinabalu: The Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry has never received and approved any criteria for the Sabah Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Programme launched recently.

In a statement on Thursday, the Ministry said that the decision to launch Sabah MM2H with the criteria mentioned was made without consultation with them.

It said the decision was made unilaterally by the Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry.

It also said it hoped that any decisions by the state relating to its MM2H programme will be made according to rules and regulations under the Tourism Industry Act 1992 (Act 482).

Sabah launched its MM2H programme on June 30 and started accepting applications on July 1.
