POLICE have confirmed that there was no criminal element involved in the death of a Taiwanese man who was fatally struck by a Light Rail Transit (LRT) train at the Pusat Bandar Puchong station earlier this week.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the case remains classified as a sudden death (SDR) following a thorough investigation.
“Our findings show there was no indication of foul play or negligence involved in the incident,” he told reporters today.
“We have credible evidence indicating that the victim fell due to his own actions,” he added.
Media reports earlier noted that closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage revealed the 63-year-old victim, who had entered Malaysia on May 31, was walking alone before falling onto the tracks and being struck by the train.
Police have since contacted the victim’s family to assist with further arrangements. - June 6, 2025
