PETALING JAYA: Selangor police said there was no foul play involved in the death of a Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) reserve officer training unit cadet.
Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the 25-year old trainee had died from a heat stroke, Utusan Malaysia reported.
AdvertisementHussein said prosecutors determined that no offence had been committed after reviewing the investigation paper, which included statements by 64 people.
“There was no foul play detected and we have decided to close the case,” he was quoted as saying.

Read more It had been reported that the trainee, identified as Amir Rusyaidi Zaidi, fainted on Nov 10 while taking part in a training session on the parade grounds. He was taken to the hospital and died three days later.
His father, Zaidi Abdul Rahman, had filed a police report claiming that Amir was stepped on the chest, forced to act like a horse with a trainer on his back, and also ordered to hop like a kangaroo.

Following his death, UiTM reviewed and tightened its procedures and monitoring mechanisms for uniformed body co-curricular activities.
