KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has not set a specific timeline for the new ministers in his Cabinet, but it is clear that there will be no “honeymoon” period.

In a post-Cabinet meeting press conference today, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said a Cabinet retreat is scheduled in January to align all ministers on objectives and priorities for 2026.

“Some ministers have previously served as deputy ministers and are familiar with administrative procedures, but new appointees may need time to understand the operations of their ministries.

“The Prime Minister will monitor their progress closely and work through the Cabinet to ensure administrative matters are addressed promptly,” he added.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister announced a Cabinet reshuffle, introducing several new faces and portfolio changes aimed at strengthening the administration.
