NO Malaysians have been reported killed or injured in the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, with Wisma Putra confirming that the Malaysian Embassy is contacting citizens stranded amid flight disruptions in Saudi Arabia.
The Foreign Ministry said the embassy was in contact with several Malaysians affected while travelling and was providing consular assistance.
It said the ministry was also closely monitoring the security situation following the attack and reports of a projectile landing near King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation has announced a temporary suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport, the ministry said in a statement today.
Malaysians living in Saudi Arabia, travelling through the country or planning to visit were urged to remain vigilant, follow official updates and comply with instructions from local authorities.
Those scheduled to travel soon were advised to check their flight status directly with their airlines before leaving for the airport and prepare for possible delays or cancellations.
Malaysians were also urged to register or update their contact details through the Foreign Ministry’s e-Konsular portal at https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my to facilitate consular assistance.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim condemned the attack, saying there could be no justification for attacks against civilians or civilian infrastructure.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the families of those killed and wish the injured a swift recovery,” he said in a Facebook post today.
“Malaysia stands in solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its people at this perilous hour. We remain steadfast in our hope that diplomacy and reason will prevail before the conflict widens still further,” he said.
For urgent consular assistance, Malaysians can contact the Malaysian Embassy in Riyadh at 00 966 11 488 7098 or 00 966 11 488 7100. The after-hours emergency number is 00 966 56 300 6319, or email mwriyadh@kln.gov.my.
Wisma Putra said it would continue monitoring developments and provide further information if necessary. - October 11, 2026
