MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday said there is no outbreak of monkeypox in the country.
It issued the statement after a case was confirmed in Mandaluyong City.
The DOH said the number of cases from January 4 to June 13, 2026 is only 44, 79 percent lower than last year's count of 205.
“The DOH does not discuss individual case circumstances to avoid stigma and to comply with data privacy laws, especially in the context of a markedly lower case count,” the agency said.
It added that local government units are empowered under Republic Act 11332, or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act, to issue their own advisories in the interest of public health in their area.
