KUALA LUMPUR – Amid rising food prices, the government will no longer impose a ceiling price on poultry and chicken eggs from July 1 onwards.
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said in a press conference that the subsidies for cooking oil in 2kg, 3kg and 5kg bottled packaging will also be abolished effective July 1.
However, he added that the subsidy for cooking oil in polybags will be maintained while the lower income group can expect targeted financial aid. – The Vibes, June 21, 2022
