PAPAR: All parties must respect Sabah’s unique political landscape and not impose the federal Unity Government model ahead of the 17th State Election, said GRS deputy secretary-general Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali (pic).

Armizan, who is also Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, stressed that Sabah’s political composition, like Sarawak and Johor, reflects its circumstances and should not be forced to mirror national alliances.

He pointed out that Sabah’s current government under Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor was formed through the GRS-PH Plus consensus after the failed "Kinabalu Move" attempt to topple the state leadership.

He added that political cooperation for the state election must be built on willingness and compatibility among parties, not federal templates, as Sabahans deserve to make free and independent choices at the state level.
