Have you ever been at the toll plaza but are unsure whether there’s enough balance inside your Touch ‘n Go card to pass through? Thankfully, nowadays, there are many more options for you to pay at most toll plazas, including RFID, PayDirect with a direct link to the Touch ‘n Go eWallet app and Credit and Debit Cards.
Well, despite all of these options available, this one Malaysian decided to keep it old school and still put all his eggs in one basket: The classic Touch ‘n Go card.
Going viral online, a 27-second video of the man paying for tolls using his classic Touch ‘n Go card caught the attention of netizens due to the remaining balance inside the card after paying the RM1.80 toll fee.
Get this, the man has a whopping RM1,102.36 balance inside his Touch ‘n Go card! Do note that this is the value stored inside the Touch ‘n Go card, not the amount he has in his Touch ‘n Go eWallet app.
Furthermore, this amount is not transferable or can be converted to cash, hence he can only use it at places that accept the Touch ‘n Go cards as payments such as tolls and public transportation.
The video was posted by X user @ricxxxkiddo on the platform and has since garnered over 714,00 views, 4,500 likes and 1,400 reposts. In the caption, @ricxxxkiddo wrote,
“I suspect his salary is paid in the form of Touch ‘n Go lah ”
At the start of the video, the man can be seen talking to his friend sitting on the passenger seat, asking the latter to guess how much balance there is in his Touch ‘n Go card.
His friend then guessed up to RM30 and burst out in laughter when it was revealed that there was over RM1,000 inside the card, saying,
“RM1,ooo?! What the hell? What are you doing topping up over RM1,000?”

In the replies to the X post, many Malaysians were amused at the man casually having over RM1,100 inside his Touch ‘n Go card.
Several commenters said that the man would definitely regret putting that much money inside the card should he somehow misplace or get the card stolen.
Besides that, one Malaysian was perplexed at why the man didn’t just use Touch ‘n Go eWallet for tolls because if he put money inside the eWallet, it could at least grow thanks to the GoInvest feature of the app.
Meanwhile, one commenter jokingly said that the car behind would be jealous of the man having that much balance inside his Touch ‘n Go card.
For those of you wondering, unlike the new enhanced NFC Touch ‘n Go card, the classic Touch ‘n Go card can only be reloaded at selected counters nationwide. Moreover, the maximum amount one can put inside their classic Touch ‘n Go card at any one time is RM1,500, with the minimum reload amount being RM10 and a maximum of RM500.
Hence, this means that this man reloaded his Touch ‘n Go card multiple times to get the over RM1,100 amount stored inside the card.
