PETALING JAYA: The government has not appointed any NGOs to collect funds to cover the treatment costs of injured Palestinians brought to Malaysia, says defence minister Khaled Nordin.
He said the defence ministry and the armed forces have already made the necessary arrangements for any parties wishing to contribute, Bernama reported.
“We don’t utilise or endorse any NGOs to collect funds because the ministry and the military hospital have their own channels.
Those who wish to contribute can do so through them.

We welcome assistance but it should be directed through the proper channels we have established, he said after launching the ministry-level Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign in Kuala Lumpur.
Khaled said the Palestinians who arrived in Malaysia for treatment on Friday were receiving proper care.
I believe we are providing them with the necessary and appropriate treatment.
Their treatment may take time due to the severity of their injuries, he said.
Khaled added that it was up to the government to decide if it wanted to organise any more missions to bring injured Palestinians to Malaysia.
Last Friday, two Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Airbus A-400M aircraft carrying 41 injured Palestinians and 86 of their immediate kin, landed safely at the Subang air base at around 2pm.
The aircraft had taken off from Almaza Air Force Base in Cairo, Egypt, the night before.
