KUALA LUMPUR police have confirmed that no ransom demands have been made in connection with the disappearance of a woman who failed to appear at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya to give a statement on 9 April.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa, said investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
“So far, investigations have found no clues or developments regarding the whereabouts of the woman,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
“Investigations have also revealed that there have been no ransom demands made to her family as of now.”
He added that twelve individuals have had their statements recorded to assist with the investigation.
Previously, *Sinar Harian* reported that the woman was believed to have been abducted after failing to attend her scheduled appointment with the MACC in Putrajaya.
Rusdi said police received a report concerning the woman’s disappearance at the Presint 7 Police Station, Putrajaya, at around 3.02pm on 9 April.
The woman had been scheduled to attend the MACC headquarters on the same day to provide a statement in connection with an ongoing investigation, but did not show up. - May 4, 2025
