We need to rise up collectively against this ultra-capitalist system. If not, systemic problems like deep inequality, people’s weakening purchasing power, household debt, corruption, poor essential services and so on will continue plaguing our societies.

Our political classes cannot be relied upon. It should be well apparent by now that they primarily serve the interests of the corporate and wealthy classes.

But first, we must achieve some semblance of genuine unity within our respective societies. This can only happen by setting aside whatever racial, religious, and/or culture war issues that presently dominate people’s minds.

Focusing on such issues and harboring irrational, one-sided perspectives may imbue us with some emotional satisfaction and a sense of righteousness, but it keeps us divided, distracted and fighting amongst ourselves, instead of blaming the true cause of our daily problems: the system itself.

In most if not all cases, the political class that’s been neglecting the people’s welfare for decades is the very same one who’s been conditioning us to think and perceive things through the narrow prism of race, religion and culture. It’s classic divide and conquer, only now, it’s being done unto us by our own governments, rather than foreign colonizers.

We must shift from predominantly racial, religious or cultural perspectives to class-based ones. Only then will it become starkly apparent that all of us, regardless of race, religion or culture, face the same socioeconomic struggles, and that such burdens can be tackled far more effectively if we all join forces.

Working together on shared struggles eventually brings forth a better understanding of each other’s differing perspectives on other issues, namely racial, religious and cultural. This naturally evolves into mutual respect as well as tolerance for each other and our varying perspectives and beliefs, thus creating a more ideal stage for resolving our differences on said issues and reaching a consensus.

As long as we remain divided on culture war issues, our political classes will simply continue catering to the interests of the corporate class and the wealthy, while deliberately neglecting our needs. Our leaders have zero desire to change this ultra-capitalist system, especially since they profit greatly from it themselves!

It’s up to us to bring any meaningful change. We must shift our perspectives and focus on combatting systemic issues together.
