Kota Kinabalu: It took the sacking of Datuk Seri Bung Moktar for trying to destabilise the State Government for a woman to be appointed back to the State Cabinet.

This was the observation of Sabah Women’s Action Resource Group operations officer Amy Marcus, who said:

"This shows the rock-bottom status of women. All the positions are taken up by men, including the social development portfolio, which is usually a ‘token’ position given to a woman politician.”
