Kota Kinabalu: China’s Consul-General Dr Huang Shifang revealed there were no takers for special loans offered under the BIMP EAG-China Cooperation (BECC) by East Malaysian businesses while others in the four-nation grouping seized the advantage for their various projects.
“The loan provider is China Development Bank and the amount is USD 5 billion.
It encompasses various aspects such as sovereign landings, public infrastructure, connectivity power, poverty alleviation, and more, all of which have the potential to benefit the local population greatly.
“Everyone involved in BIMP EAGA are considered eligible applicants,” she said.
