No Thais affected by earthquake in Japan

BANGKOK: No Thai nationals have been reported to be involved or affected by the earthquake in Japan on Monday, according to the Foreign Ministry.

It also advised Thai nationals to exercise caution and to stay vigilant as well as follow the latest updates by the Japanese authorities and media.

In cases of emergency, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo may be contacted via the hotline +8190-4435-7812.

On Monday, a powerful earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 struck off the coast of Ishikawa Prefecture in central Japan, triggering tsunami warnings along coastal regions of western Japan. Small tsunami waves reached some shores.–Bernama
