SANDAKAN: Elopura Assemblyman Calvin Chong is disappointed with the decision not to build an Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) here.
He said the rapid growth of Sandakan’s population necessitates improved government services, particularly the National Registration Department’s branch in Sandakan.
He claimed that people often complain about the difficult, time consuming and inefficient condition at the Department on a daily basis.
“In fact, many still have to wait in queue until the evening despite coming early in the morning to get their numbers,” he said, adding that this is due to the Department’s slow and unsystematic service.
