The RAI Portal, launched by the National Digital Department yesterday, serves as a one-stop centre for non-Malaysians dealing with the Malaysian government – whether for travel, education, or investment.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo, who officiated the launch at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang, said the portal reflects Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to inclusive development – for both Malaysians and non-Malaysians.

Here’s a fact file on the RAI Portal.

The name ‘RAI’ is inspired by the Bahasa Melayu word rai, which means ‘to celebrate’.

Development of the portal began in 2024, with a focus on user-centric services – in line with Malaysia’s role as Asean Chair this year, and in preparation for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

An intensive user requirements study was conducted, involving actual users to better understand their needs and gather accurate feedback.

The RAI Portal features several key components, catering to those intending to visit, study, work, or invest in Malaysia. Users can access information and services relevant to their purpose – including visa and permit requirements, education procedures, expatriate job opportunities, and investment incentives.

The initiative reflects the government’s continued commitment to mainstreaming digitalisation in the public sector, in line with the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint and the Fourth Industrial Revolution Policy.
