For a typical kampung boy born up north Peninsula in the 1950s, I am always in search for a true village-style (kampung) dinning experience that doesn't compromise on traditional Malay flavors. Putrajaya, where now my family live, has 2 standout options - one that leans into a premium, beautifully styled rustic atmosphere, and another that captures the everyday hustle of a tradition lunch spread. My wife, Zarina and I, with our second daughter, Zana, a moment ago visited Noonha Kitchen, an innovative family owned business, they channel the village spirit with a scenic & traditional atmosphere through their midday Lauk Campur (buffet mixed spread) hour. During our lunch, they spread out freshly prepared, traditional Malay country-side-style dishes where we could stack our plate with traditional curries, sambals, and local fresh vegetables (ulam). It provides a great everyday village lunch alternative without leaving the busy government office complexes in Presint 1.

I like the catchy tagline of Noonha Kitchen that “Good Food, Good Mood, Good Time” trifecta, a vibrant spot where the atmosphere, music, and energy elevate the dining experience. It stans out by offering a “three-in-one” all day dining experience combined with a convenient, accessible location, near local landmarks. The key aspects of its uniqueness for all-day multi-concept dining: Morning Breakfast with heart Malaysian breakfast selections starting from early morning at 7.00 am; Midday lunch serving freshly Malaysian cooked traditional Lauk Campur (mixed rice with kampung-style & Malay dishes) plus light cookies like hot cucur udang for tea; Evening for Dinner & Supper serving authentic Thai a la carte dishes and fried selections running late night up to 11.30 pm or 12 am.

We enjoyed the family-friendly and clean environment, welcoming and engaging conversations with customer service staff well-suited for families, office professionals, foreign visitors and students. I like the restaurant manager, Kabir Bedi (the name of one Bollywood's most celebrated veteran actors). “I was born during the height popularity of Kabir across India, Europe & the US" he revealed.
