Noor Hisham rubbishes rumours of running in state polls

KUALA LUMPUR – Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has dismissed rumours that he would be named as a candidate for next month’s state elections.

The former health director-general was responding to earlier claims on Twitter that he would be vying for an assembly seat in Selangor.

The tweet read “Speculations are rife that an ex-DG of MOH will be contesting in the DUN Selangor?”.

Dr Noor Hisham, who played a crucial role during the Covid-19 pandemic, called it a day after serving as health director-general for 35 years on April 19.

He said he had no plans after retirement and wanted to rest.

Perikatan Nasional is set to unveil its candidates for Selangor, Kedah, and Penang later today. – The Vibes, July 26, 2023
