
- A norovirus outbreak has been reported on Princess Cruises’ Ruby Princess ship.
- A total of 125 people, 102 passengers and 23 crew, reported being sick with diarrhea and vomiting on the voyage, which was scheduled for June 12 to July 2, according to the CDC. Approximately 3.4% of the 3,032 passengers onboard fell ill, along with 2% of 1,144 staff members.
- Princess Cruises said it implemented increased cleaning and disinfection procedures on this ship and isolated ill passengers and crew.
- The latest norovirus outbreak is the cruise line’s third this year, USA Today reported. The CDC reported seven outbreaks of gastrointestinal illness on cruise ships so far in 2026.
- Two outbreaks were caused by E. coli and the rest were caused by norovirus, including the two other outbreaks on Princess ships.
