North Korean leader Kim Jong Un supervised new strategic cruise and anti-warship missile tests from a naval destroyer, state media reports.

SEOUL: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has overseen new tests of strategic cruise and anti-warship missiles launched from a naval destroyer.

State media reported the tests on Sunday, marking the latest in a series of recent launches by the nuclear-armed nation.

According to the Korean Central News Agency, two strategic cruise missiles each flew for approximately 7,900 seconds.

The anti-warship missiles flew for nearly 2,000 seconds, or about 33 minutes.

KCNA stated the missiles flew “along the flight orbits set in the sky above the West Sea of Korea and struck the targets with ultra-precision hit accuracy.”

The tests were conducted from the *Choe Hyon*, a 5,000-ton destroyer launched last year.

Kim was also briefed on planning for the weapon systems of two more destroyers currently under construction.

He reiterated that bolstering North Korea’s nuclear deterrent was the “most important priority task.”
