New footage captures the moment of impact when the Stena Immaculate oil tanker collided with the Solong cargo ship in the North Sea on Monday, 10 March, off the coast of East Yorkshire.

Video obtained by The Independent was captured by cameras from Israeli shipping tech firm Orca AI on a nearby vessel. Foggy skies can be seen.

Humberside Police said a 59-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter in connection with the collision.

In a statement on Wednesday morning, the force said “a 59-year-old man remains in our custody” and detectives are “continuing to conduct extensive lines of inquiry”.
