Manchester United have received a surprising boost on the injury front this week.

The Red Devils have learned that backup defender Jonny Evans is expected to be fit this weekend.

United take on Sheffield United after the international break, with several of their defenders out.

The Northern Ireland captain was limping after the game against Slovenia on Tuesday, but he is said to be okay.

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill stated post-game: "He's obviously hobbling a bit; I think the same foot got stamped on three times.

"So he's had it pretty badly. I think he's fine; he'll be okay.

It is one of those where he'll wake up in the morning, and I imagine it'll be pretty sore, but there's no sort of real damage or anything as far as I am aware."
