Family members of Cikgu Din, the Malaysian teacher who had his transfer request from Sarawak to Peninsular Malaysia and leave applications to be with his cancer-stricken wife rejected by the Ministry of Education (MOE) have refuted MOE’s statement on the matter, revealing that the ministry has yet to take any action to address the teacher’s predicament.

As shared by former teacher turned activist Mohd Fadli Salleh, Cikgu Din’s younger sibling revealed that MOE hasn’t ‘immediately given leave’ to the teacher as the statement claimed, rather, Cikgu Din’s current leave was given since Monday (21 October).

MOE has yet to offer any solutions to Cikgu Din’s predicament

Furthermore, it was revealed that the leave wasn’t even a compassionate leave for him to be with his cancer-stricken wife, but only unpaid leave for one month.

Cikgu Din’s family added that MOE has yet to offer any solutions or meet with him.

Mohd Fadli thus hoped that Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek could help Cikgu Din with his transfer request so that he could stay with his wife in Kota Bharu, Kelantan and take care of her who is suffering from Stage 4 cancer.

Furthermore, the activist hoped that MOE would have empathy for the matter and turn the unpaid leaves into paid leaves.
