The list is out. Our Prime Minister finally unveiled his cabinet of ministers after much thought over many issues. We must all admit that it was definitely not an easy task for Datuk Sri Anwar Ibrahim, nor a perfect or ideal line-up in the eyes of many. Hence criticisms were fast in coming and various kinds of comments were made. I believe this is to be expected.
To all who have been appointed as ministers, “Congratulations!” You have a mammoth task and a rough journey ahead as you all team together to restore and reset this nation in as short time as you can.
We, the rakyat wish you all the wisdom, patience and understanding that you need even as you endeavour to work as ONE to make Malaysia great again. We trust that each of you will put the nation first before many other things that come your way. We believe every single one of you will tap into one another’s strength and be very open-minded in all your discussions, magnifying the beauty of Malaysia’s diversity in race, culture and religion. Never ever be afraid to always do the right thing (truth, justice, righteousness) so that the welfare of every single Malaysian, regardless of race or religion be taken care of. Be humble to seek the counsel of so many other parliamentarians who are not in the cabinet so that we gain greater wisdom for the many decisions that you have to make.
We all want a better Malaysia. After the onslaught of Covid-19, economic downturn, a disruption to our education, social problems, unprecedented floods in many places and escalating inflation, we all know that we need to act fast to save our nation.
We need to put a brake to this slide down a slippery slope. As the rakyat, we want to stand with all our parliamentarians who work hard as ministers or elected representatives.
I hope all of us will be slow to judge but quick to encourage one another towards good work. Let this be a new season of unity in diversity, nation before self. We are all not perfect but we know that the best is yet to be for Malaysia.
Thank you everyone for being a Malaysian first and serving Malaysia with all your talents and abilities! Step by step we will move towards perfection. The best is yet to be!
