Kota Kinabalu: DAPSY (DAP Socialist Youth) said there is need for Federal investigators to take over establishing the cause of Zara Qairina Mahathir’s death, claiming the public’s confidence in Sabah police’s ability in handling the matter has eroded.
“Although the Attorney General has directed post-mortem procedures to be conducted, public trust in state-level authorities continues to deteriorate.
“Therefore, federal authorities must take over this investigation to ensure transparency, justice and integrity without any compromise,” they said.

They drew parallels to the South Korean drama “The Glory” which depicts how children of important people bully ordinary citizens and escape punishment.
“This tragedy raises various questions to the point of being compared to the plot of the South Korean drama ‘The Glory’.
“It would be an insult to the criminal justice system and institutional credibility if there are elements of abuse of power in this case,” they said.
They said the Madani government is committed to protecting the younger generation and will not allow a young life to be sacrificed just like that without appropriate justice.
