Kota Kinabalu: There is nothing wrong for the Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA) to recommend its President, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan to be appointed as the next Head of State, said KDCA Youth Council chairman Steve Johnny Mositun.

“There have been Head of States from the Kadazan Dusun Murut (KDM) community previously,” he said in a statement, Friday.

“However, it has been quite a while since we have last seen a KDM Head of State.”

The Youth Council, he said, is in full support of the proposal as it would be impactful for the KDM community in particular and Malaysians in general.

“Huguan Siou (Pairin) has all the experience aside from good wisdom and good ties with the multi-racial communities of Sabah,” he said.

KDCA Secretary-General Suman Yasambun has recently announced that the Association has proposed for Pairin to be appointed as the next Yang di-Pertua Negeri.

The proposal, he said, was made as the current Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin’s term is expected to end soon.
