Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper has welcomed new signing Renan Lodi.

The Brazil fullback has arrived on-loan from Atletico Madrid.

Cooper said: "Even though he's quite young (24 years of age) he's still got a lot of big game experience, both for his club and internationally for Brazil. These Premier League games are on the big stage, and we need players with that experience. He fits the profile. He's very good on and off the ball.

"I was surprised at his availability, but once we knew about it we were able to get a deal done. He was really excited to come here and that is important."

He also said: "We could see more players coming in and going out. We might not do anything. Anything can happen, but we are constantly having good communication with the board and ownership. Three games this week has taken up a lot of time and with it being a day before a game, that's what I'm focussing on."
