Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall is being offered an escape route out of the City Ground.
Worrall has been transfer-listed by Forest and currently training with the U21 squad.
The Sun says Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick is seeking talks with Forest for Worrall.
Carrick wants to take the defender on-loan next month with an option to buy in June.
Meanwhile, fellow Forest defender Scott McKenna has also been transfer-listed.
