Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall admits they were poor for defeat at West Ham.
Forest were thrashed 4-0 in London on Saturday.
"We didn't do well enough to recover the third and the fourth and that period was not good enough and too soft," Worrall told BBC Sport.
"Two goals in two minutes is not acceptable at this level. It's a big step-up for everybody and if you concede two on the bounce you don't deserve anything from the game.
"It's not nice at the moment but if we can take something from it and learn from it then the 10-15 minutes the goals came in, we will look to put something right.
"It's not good enough from us, it's as simple as that. On the road we haven't been good enough this season. We need to score more and stop conceding. It's more inflicting damage on ourselves.
"We'll back ourselves to beat anyone at home I think but we need to try and take some positives from today."
