Follow live coverage as Nottingham Forest face Leicester City today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.
The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.
Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

Wasteful! Aina releases Gibbs-White on the counter as Forest look for an instant response but the midfielder puts far too much on his through ball for Wood and it runs out for a goal kick.

A reminder that the last time Nottingham Forest played in European competition was in the 1995-96 season. Going out in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup to Bayern Munich. 20 years later are in a strong position to achieve at least Europa League qualification for 2025/26.

Anderson gifts Leicester possession with a sloppy pass out of play on the halfway line. The first poor moment in an excellent start for the home side in their hunt for Champions League football.

As you might expect with 40 points and 12 places between the sides, Leicester have barely touched the ball in this opening 10 minutes.

You expect Wood to score those!! Elanga whips in a delightful ball to the back post where Wood is unmarked, but he can only head the ball back across goal and over the bar. With 19 league goals to his name this season, that is bread and butter for Wood.

Early sighter for Wood! An Elanga cross from the left takes a nick off a Leicester defender and falls slightly behind the big forward who hooks a left-footed effort narrowly wide from eight yards out.

Gibbs-White is straight into the heart of the action as he weaves his way through a couple of challenges on the edge of the box and finds Williams on the left flank who sees a cross deflected behind for an early corner.

Wood’s next goal involvement will be his 100th in the Premier League, scoring 88 goals and providing 11 assists. The Kiwi has seven involvements in his career against today’s opposition, only having more against West Ham and Wolves (9).

It’s an unchanged side for Van Nistelrooy following last weekend’s rare victory. Ndidi and Skipp against Sangare and Anderson in the midfield should prove to be an interesting battle.

Just the one change by Nuno following Monday’s draw with Crystal Palace. Murillo misses out with a hamstring injury so fellow Brazilian, Morato, slots into centre-back in his absence.

An enormous game for Nuno Espirito Santo and his high-flying Forest side if they are to seize the opportunity that their incredible season has presented them with. But from being on the edge of a title charge a couple of months ago, Forest have lost three of their last five games, falling to seventh in the table and at the thick end of the Champions League race. But with Manchester City dropping points yesterday and Chelsea on the verge of defeat to Newcastle at the time of writing, a win here could launch Forest back up above Villa and Chelsea in the hunt for that all-important fifth spot. As for Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s Championship-bound Leicester side, they finally broke a home goal drought of 826 minutes in a 2-0 win over Southampton last weekend. Vardy, who scored in that win and starts up front today, is looking to score his 200th Leicester goal in what is his 499th game for the club. The Foxes have not recorded successive Premier League wins since October.
