LABUAN: Chinese Chamber of Commerce Chairman Datuk Wong Kii Hii suggested that the government discuss with the new owner of nearby Pulau Daat on the possibility of building a bridge saying such physical connection will generate spin off benefits to both the points.
Wong said Labuan is the closest major town to Daat with well-established infrastructure which could provide instant logistic and other support for the planned industrial activities on the island which has no development.
“Labuan could serve as a venue for Daat’s business and leisure meet”, remarked Wong.
He said under the Madani 2024 Budget RM300 million had been allocated to overcome Labuan water problems and a new power plant had been planned to boost the operational capacity of SESB “So water and power will not be an issue to meet the demands of Daat”
