IPOH, Jan 12 — The number of flood victims at the temporary evacuation centre (PPS) which was opened in Kampung Sahom, Kampar after flash floods hit the village yesterday, increased from 86 in the morning to 91 as at 8pm tonight.
The Perak State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat in a statement said as of 8pm, 91 flood victims were taking shelter at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sahom Kampar.
The PPS was opened at 9pm yesterday when several villages were affected by flash floods following a heavy downpour in the afternoon.
The flash floods saw several houses in the villages affected when water level at Sungai Rias began to rise and spill over. — Bernama
