Nur Izzati Humaira’s father expresses gratitude to Malaysians for their prayers and accepts her death as Allah’s will.

KUALA KUBU BHARU: Amid his grief, the father of Nur Izzati Humaira Azizul, who was found dead after reportedly losing her way while hiking Bukit Changkat Asa, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Malaysians who prayed for his daughter throughout the search.

Azizul Abdul Aziz, 48, said his family is deeply saddened by the loss of his daughter, but they accept it as the will of Allah SWT.

“I have seen my daughter’s body. Alhamdulillah, her modesty was properly preserved and everything was in order. The whole of Malaysia is praying for her,” he said when met at the Forensic Unit of Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital (HKKB) here today.

He also thanked all the rescue teams who had worked tirelessly in the search and rescue (SAR) operation since Saturday, after Nur Izzati Humaira, the second among four siblings, was reported missing.

On funeral arrangements, Azizul said the body of 19-year-old Nur Izzati Humaira would be taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem before being brought back to their hometown in Felda Trolak Utara, Sungkai, Perak.

The post-mortem had initially been scheduled to take place at HKKB.

“The body will be taken to Masjid Ar-Riduaniah in Felda Trolak Utara for funeral prayers and then laid to rest at the local Felda cemetery as soon as the post-mortem is completed,” he said.

The teenager’s body was found off the hiking trail by SAR teams at about 11.59 am, around 500 metres from her last known location and about one kilometre from the Incident Control Post.

Nur Izzati Humaira is believed to have gone missing at about 10.50 am on Saturday after getting separated from her family while descending the hill, having earlier decided to walk on her own towards the foot of the hill as she was feeling hot and tired.
