Nurfisya murder case: Police confirm 61 stab wounds, not 105

POLICE today confirmed that the total number of stab wounds on the body of the murder victim, Mara Poly-Tech College (KPTM) student Nurfisya Zulkifly, is 61, based on the autopsy results and not 105 as spread on social media.

Kota Bharu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azmir Damiri, said that the number does not include other wounds, such as scratches that were also found on the victim's body.

“The actual number based on the autopsy results is 61 stab wounds only, not including scratches,” he told reporters when asked to comment on the claim that went viral on social media.

Previously, claims went viral that there were a total of 105 stab wounds on the victim's body, but the figure was not accurate based on statements from the authorities.

Meanwhile, he informed that the motive of the incident has not yet been identified and investigations into all suspects are underway.

“So far, four arrests have been made involving two 19-year-old boys and a pair of elderly people. The investigation is still ongoing, and we are examining this case from various angles,” he said.

He also stressed that the public should not spread speculation that could affect the police investigation.

Previously, the body of Nurfisya, 19, was found covered in blood on the road in Ketereh by residents at 12.22 am, Friday. The victim is believed to have been killed in another location before being abandoned in the area. – May 3, 2026
