The riddle of the “identity” of the next Prime Minister has been solved. Just this afternoon (November 24), Pakatan Harapan’s Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been elected as the country’s 10th Prime Minister by the National Palace.

It didn’t take him long to receive many congratulatory messages from many Malaysians, and his daughter, Nurul Izzah also left him a heartfelt message via her Instagram post, where she posted a couple of old images of them.

Life is full of challenges

Despite her father’s victory, Izzah said that more challenges are bound to come for her father.

“We were tested when we lost, and we’re being tested again after we have won.”

One thing is for sure, Izzah said that since 1998, they have been demanding justice not only for themselves but also as a form of protection for all. Decades later, despite winning the GE15, she added that her father’s journey is just about to begin as responsibilities await.

The swear-in ceremony is slated to take place at 5 pm today, and it means a long journey ahead for Anwar Ibrahim afterward.

“The efforts to unite the compatriots, to examine the economic problems, attract investment through economic stimulation and local talents.”

Izzah, the former MP of Permatang Pauh then expressed what she wants to see in the future generation – idealism and principles of struggle.

“The legacy we leave for our children and future generations is not rank or money, but idealism and principles of struggle that cannot be bought and sold.”

In her Instagram story earlier, Izzah also thanked Malaysians for the support towards not only his father, but also Pakatan Harapan, and said that “patience is beautiful“, a reference to the traits of his father who never gave up despite decades had passed.

At the end of her post, the daughter of Anwar Ibrahim expressed her love for him.

“I love you, Papa. Am always proud of you – even as you lay imprisoned as a prisoner of conscience.”

We would also like to congratulate Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim for being elected as Malaysia’s 10th Prime Minister. We hope that he will give his very best in leading the country to make Malaysia great again.
