PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar denies stepping down, reaffirms commitment to her party role and urges public to trust official statements.
KUALA LUMPUR: Nurul Izzah Anwar has firmly denied viral claims that she has resigned as deputy president of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
The former Permatang Pauh MP stressed the allegations were untrue and confirmed her commitment to fulfilling her mandate.
“I remain committed to carrying out this mandate in accordance with the party’s responsibilities and processes, and there are no changes in the current leadership structure,” she said in a statement.
She expressed appreciation for the concern shown and urged the public not to be influenced by unverified information.
Nurul Izzah encouraged everyone to refer to official party statements for accurate information.
Speculation about her vacating the post recently went viral on social media, sparking various reactions within PKR.
She was elected deputy president for the 2025-2028 term in last year’s party elections.
Nurul Izzah, the daughter of PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, defeated incumbent Datuk Seri Mohd Rafizi Ramli in a straight fight for the position.
