Nurul Izzah steps down from post as senior economic and finance advisor to PM

PETALING JAYA: Nurul Izzah (pix) was reported to have announced her resignation from her position as senior economic and finance advisor to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also her father.

The former Permatang Pauh MP said in a statement that head of the Special Advisory Body to the Finance Minister Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican has offered her a place in the Secretariat of the Finance Advisory Committee to assist in their efforts to better the nation’s economy.

“I humbly accept the offer. Because of this new position, I am no longer serving as the senior economic and finance advisor to the Prime Minister,“ she said.
